Ubuntu vs Windows Boot times
On my laptop, I have both Ubuntu 10.04 and Windows 7 installed and dual-booting. I have decided to compare the boot times of both systems.
Here are the results:
Ubuntu 10.04 (which I have upgraded from 9.10) at 35 seconds (some people told me this is slow...), and Windows 7 home premium, with over a minute to boot...
P.S I needed to boot windows 3 times before I could time the boot! On the first boot it updated registry values after installing updates on the previous shutdown (why didn't it update the registry on the shutdown, after installing the updates???) and on the second boot it 'configured the system' - what ever that means...
